Life Skills
Life Skills strengthen the ability of an individual to meet the needs and demands of the present society. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) India has recognized the fact that it is necessary to develop scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, and hence, has made life skill education a compulsory element in its curriculum. The world bodies such as UNICEF, UNESCO, and WHO list the ten core Life Skills as:
1. Self-awareness
2. Critical thinking
3. Creative thinking
4. Decision making
5. Problem-Solving
6. Effective communication
7. Interpersonal relationship
8. Empathy
9. Coping with stress
10. Coping with emotion
It has been felt, that life skills education bridges the gap between basic functioning and capabilities. Thus, a relevant life skill
education helps in dealing with the above issues in a manner to get desired behavior practical.
Life skills training/education takes into account psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills that help students to take the right decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships,
empathize with others, and cope with managing their lives healthily and productively.
We at GDGPS Arrah, take these skill developments, very seriously as these are the very tools that will help one face complications on a day-to-day basis. A student with a strong emotional and mental base can prove to be a very worthy adversary for all that life will make him/her face, either today or tomorrow, and therefore, our focus is to make you
stronger and capable to figure out how to behave and handle adverse situations and times.
